About
On June 22, 1970, Timothy Christopher Wayne Archer was born to Gary
and Faye Archer of Sarnia, Ontario. Tim's parents both worked hard to
support their family of three children and cultured them in music and
talent of the 50's and 60's.
In the early 1960's Gary and Faye owned and operated the 'Candystick
Lounge' in downtown Sarnia. The lounge featured many top acts such as
the Platters, Bobby Lewis and Sharon Loness. Both had a great love of
music and dance. Gary performed in many area venues with his warm 'Jim
Reeves' baritone style, always with the loving support of his wife
Faye.
Tim began to sing and perform at the age of three for family and
friends at neighborhood gatherings and family parties. Tim's parents
would often tell the story of Tim singing 'Last of the Red Hot Lovers'
by Neil Simon, to any or everyone who would listen. By the early age
of sixteen, Tim had made a name for himself in the Sarnia area as a
top singer and performer. Among his many early achievements, Tim
performed to an outdoor concert for 40,000 people for 'Sarnia for
Downtown Days'.
The music consisted of a wide variety featuring hits from the fifties
up to the present. Many people commented that day on Tim's stage
presence as being one of the best and most energetic performances
they've seen. His unique ability of picking up tunes and lyrics after
hearing a piece only a few times had made him an instant success at a
wide range of gospel, country and classic’s events.
At the age of nineteen, Tim released a cassette of twelve songs from
the 50's and 60's era, and were sold at most of the music stores in
Sarnia area. Tim became part of a regular rotation on the CHOK and the
FOX FM radio stations in the Lambton area. Fox Fm once had a website
entitled 'The Lambton Leaders' which a feature of Tim was placed among
some their top Canadian performers such as Kim Mitchell and James
Doohan, 'Scotty' from Star Trek. The cassette had sold out to great
reviews from local fans.
Other achievements during this time were Canada's 'London to Memphis',
a competition where Tim had placed second out of the top five
finalists. He had also placed second in the 'Budweiser’s Canada Star
Search'. Both competitions were much to the same respect of today's
music searches like 'American Idol' and 'Canadian Idol'.
With the aid and support of his parents, in the late 80's Tim started
a successful Sarnia car club called 'The Nifty Fifties and Sixties'
displaying a wide variety of classic and vintage cars to the public.
The club was a non-profit organization, featuring a number of yearly
events designed for the betterment of the Sarnia area and local
charities. Tim was able to use his creativity and performing talents
to bring prosperous recognition to it.
Tim and his parents traveled to the Nashville, Tennessee twice in the
early 1990's and during a visit to Loretta Lynn's ranch, Tim was given
the opportunity to sing with Loretta Lynn's daughter, Patsy Lynn. That
led the Lynn family sponsoring Tim to sing on stage at the Grand Ole
Opry in their Friday and Saturday shows, where he was encouraged
backstage by Skeeter Davis.
Tim performed at Bad Bob's Vapors Bar, a Nashville hot spot, and sang
with both Phoebe Lewis, daughter of Jerry Lee Lewis, and The Kentucky
Head Hunters. He had also performed at the Mickey Gillies Bar in
Nashville, another entertainment hot spot. Several songs were
performed as a woman in the audience made several request for Tim to
sing Patsy Cline, Hank Locklin, and Ricky Nelson. He sang all of the
requested songs to great applause, unbeknown to Tim at the time. The
woman in the audience was Lorrie Morgan, daughter of Grand Ole Opry
star George Morgan.
In 1992 Tim was offered an opportunity to sing for Capital Records.
Unfortunately, his mother Faye, his biggest number one fan, had passed
away during this time of breast cancer. For three years after, Tim had
organized and performed in the Sarnia area at large fundraising events
for the Breast Cancer Society in memory of Faye Archer.
After moving north of Sarnia to Owen Sound in 1994, another trip had
followed to Nashville, where Tim performed at many local venues and
fundraisers. Then in 2000 Tim released locally his self titled CD
’ARCHER’ a tribute to some of his parents favourite songs of the 50's,
60's and country artists.
Tim has been at a stage where he is now ready to take his talent to
the 'next level'. He has also been looking at advancing his career on
the stage and in the film industry. Years of performing and singing
with life experiences have enhanced his abilities to dramatically
allow for a greater range and depth of emotions revealing themselves
in his performances.
A live performance at the Owen Sound legion in 2008 gave Archer Fans a
taste of the newly inspired Archer. One Fan said "For the first time
I seen Archer on stage" since Tim has always performed cover songs.
This performance included two pre-released songs. 'Blue of the Sky',
written as a love song by Tim's late father Gary to his new wife Faye
in 1961 and 'Cheatin on Me'. Both have hit #7 on the global country
artist charts on reverbnation.com. Also these songs have placed him in
the 'Featured Artist' spotlight for a week, gaining him even more
great reviews and recognition.
Late 2008 and early 2009 Tim begun working in the studio to add
additional songs along with "Blue of the Sky" and "Cheatin' On Me" to
compile the full album "Blue of the Sky" which was released mid 2009.
The songs on this CD are original and written by Tim, himself
accompanied with singer/song writter Scott Morrow of New York.
In 2009, the long anticipated release of Tim's Second CD entitled
'Archer - Blue Of The Sky' is finally available through our online

I found you on Edward Decker's page. He just recently became a friend through another friend. I absolutely love this song. It's perfect (as I wrote in the comments section) for someone who lost the love of their life through personal choices or on God's timetable as I lost mine. Thank you for making me cry.....but it was a good one. We all need a good one now and again. ~Wendy~. P.S. I'm sending a you friends request...Please say yes....I have a small connection with a Country Festival in Havelock each summer. May be able to get you added if I can track someone down. He moves a lot but always gets in touch now and then. I am also connected personnaly with Glass Tiger....may be of help there too.....or not, but I'll try. Take care and keep this up....You're talented.
my reply:
OMG you made me cry Thanks.lol That was such a sweet email you sent me. I guess you know Blue Of The Sky was written by my dad as a love song in 1961 for my mom Faye Archer. It was originally written as a love song for her when they met. But dad had never recorded it. So when she passed away in 1992 when I was 22 to breast Cancer, dad asked me to take the song and rewrite it for her and get it out there for all to hear, something he wished he had done. I told dad at the time that i dont know, i would love to and i loved the song but moms passing at the time was way too hard on me and besides " I dont write songs you know that i only love to sing". Well in 1997 my father passed suddenly not ever hearing the song Blue Of The Sky Completed. It was not until this year that I finally had the opportunity to finish the song. A song that is long overdue. I remember the moments in the studio when the very first take was starting of Blue of the sky and how every ounce of emotion i had bottled up for so many years poured through the mic and sent the room including me into tears. The only word i can say to explain that moment was "Completion". Finally, "Blue of the sky" will be heard worldwide healing hearts for all that hear. Hope this song heals your heart too.
XOXO
