About
Thomas Emilio is a 22 year old singer/songwriter and student currently residing in Adelaide. Originally born Thomas Emilio Capogreco, in Melbourne, Tom was classically trained as a violinist from a young age, not turning his attention to the guitar until 1999, when he began writing songs and performing them. In the years 2000-2004, Tom played lead guitar for Melbourne four piece ambient rock outfit, Seritone, with whom he helped record and produce a nine-track albumella entitled “Light the Stars” in January of 2004, before moving to Adelaide to continue his university studies.
Since his move to Adelaide, Tom has been playing his songs at pubs and venues around Adelaide, as well as playing lead guitar for local feel-good indie outfit The Keepsakes. In the summer of 2005/06, Tom returned to Melbourne to collaborate with former Seritone band mates Morgan Lokhorst-Blight and Al Newstead to record another albumella under the name Thomas Emilio, entitled “Woke Up Laughing”. The CD was finished at the end of 2006: a nine-track endeavour which featured Cat Empire keyboardist Ollie McGill on the title track and was mixed by Andy Baldwin, and mastered by Ross Cockle in Melbourne.
Tom has aspirations to make another CD this summer and he is currently in the process of forming a band with some musician friends in Adelaide.
