“The Wounded Men,"All The East Bay Misses You" (Self-Released) Mike Flinn and guitarist Mike Assenzio got together in the fall of 2008. Their goal was to make an album and “All The East Bay Misses You” is the end result. Singer/songwriter Mike Flinn shares lead vocals with four different women on this album. Flinn covers the lion’s share of the lead vocals but their contributions break things up a bit and make for a quite enjoyable listening experience. Amanda Chung’s vocals on “Don’t Make Me A Widow” reminds me of the Pogues when Caitlín O'Riordan would sing. “Gimme Everything” has Kat Bukanc simultaneously channeling Lucinda Williams and Chrissie Hynde. Heather Wood takes “Little Odessa” into pure alt-country bliss and Beth Keener’s vocals melt together beautifully with Flinn’s on Anti Pain. Flinn’s retro pop flair helps to propel his songs along at a nice pace and the ladies voices keep things fresh. ”
