About

The most attractive band in the world; The Vaine, is composed of five teens from Inner West Sydney.

  • CLARISSA ROGAN (Clik) – 18 yrs old - Rhythm Guitarist / Clear Vocalist
  • STEPHANIE ROGAN (Steph) – 18 yrs old - Bass
  • SHELLEY PARTRIDGE (Shell) – 17 yrs old - Screamer / Vocals
  • BILAL FOUANI (Bee) – 16 years old - Lead Guitarist
  • JACK BRUNN - 18 yrs old - Drummer

The Vaine tentatively formed in late January 2006 with founding members Clik & Steph Rogan and Martyna Majno, initially toying with one of Clik's tunes in F.E's kennel, (The Rogan's shed) Potential was seen and after approaching guitarist Bee Fouani, (whose fingers are all over the fret board like maggots on a rotten chop) and lead vocalist Shelley Partridge, (for whom the world is far too quiet) The Vaine played their first gig at Hyland Road Youth Centre on the 24th of February: The day Clik lost her voice.

After playing several gigs, the band had to let go of their bass player, Martyna, and recruited Steve Blackford to take her place. The recruitment of Steve, (who initially wanted to be a fireman but burnt his finger on a birthday candle and settled on music instead) tied up the proverbial loose end, cementing a tight bass platform upon which the guitars of Clik and Bee slink and growl like feral cats in a back alley; subsequently, the band has gigged constantly since.

The Vaine played their way to the Grand Finals of Liverpool Idol, and have played with bands such as Another Day, Levitikus, Hospital The Musical, Killcare Beach, Septembers Silence and Metallica, and are currently trying to track down Mozart.

During July 06, The Vaine recorded their 5 track EP titled “Regrets & Hollow Threats”. After the recordings were put on MySpace for the punters to hear, The Vaine have had a write up in the Drum Media. Thanks Matt.

December 2006 The Vaine played at HOMEBAKE one of the biggest music festival in Sydney sharing the stage with the like of Silver Chair, Eskimo Joe, Parkway Drive, Something with numbers and so on.

As young as The Vaine are they are nothing short of exceptionally musically talented. Shelly's "devil voice" is very reminiscent of Lacey Mosely in Flyleaf and Clik's beautiful vocals go from an Amy Lee through out the album to a Billy Corgan type of sound on the "March of Bastille" track, which is very Smashing Pumpkin-esh in it's own right with the addition of a strings section on the track. With the drive of these intelligent and talented teens we expect these teens to go far.

There is much ahead for this hot young band with gigs coming up. Their first EP (Regrets and Hollow Threats) in circulation for over a year now, and the second in post-production The Vaine continue to bring their energy and explosive music for all their global fans, and so far, the band is having fun and working very hard to achieve the ultimate goal - to be heard all over the world.
