The Trubelos / Press

“The Trubelos- Tumbleweed Road - Tim Wenger | May 1, 2014 | Colorado Music Buzz by Tru Blu - - The strength in The Trubelos sophomore effort, Tumbleweed Road is the diversity of musical style and the chemistry of the band. With equal parts country, blues, classic rock and soul, Tumbleweed Road is full of great song writing and quality musicianship. The Trubelos have successfully blended Lauren Michaels sassy and strong female lead vocal with classic male machismo and the result is fun loving, toe tapping, small town meets the big city bundle of joy. Their smooth delivery translates easily to the big stage or back yard bbq and there’s nobody like them in our music scene today. I definitely see The Trubelos enjoying a long, glorious run. “The Trubelos formed only in May of 2012, so they are really just getting it rolling. They just pressed their debut CD; ‘Boomerang Girl’ with 13 multi-genre songs; seven written by member Sandy Craig, and six eclectic covers, ranging from Susan Tedeschi to Concrete Blonde compositions. The four other band members have had long tenures in at least six Denver bands over the years, and here they are delivering a unique style of ’60's tinged twang blues pop for Lauren’s vocals to shine on. Their set list does contain a few slow ones, but just so the dancers can catch their breath. This is music for drinking and dancing in the old bar band tradition. Trubelos is pronounced TRUbelos; it is short for Truth, Beauty, and Love…’Nuf said….”
