The Sanction are a heavy rock band from Hertfordshire and Essex, who formed in October 2007 (under the name Proximity Effect). Following the tragic suicide of their drummer, Alan Baker, in Spring 2008 the band changed their name to The Sanction and recorded a 9 track album as a trio, (which took 18 months in total to record and mix). The bassist (Al Hill) left the band following a live date at The Millenium Hall, Essex to start a new life in Scotland.
