The Rare Grooves are a Raleigh-based six-piece band with roots in Jazz, Blues, and R&B/Soul. The members bring a wide range of influences and experience to the group and create a unique blend of 50's, 60's, and 70's sounds. The Rare Grooves perform hit classics by many artists of Jazz, Blues, and R&B such as Ray Charles, The Temptations, The Isley Brothers, Al Green, Taj Mahal, Bill Withers, Van Morrison, Delbert McClinton, and T-bone Walker to name a few. As well as select tunes by other choice artists of those styles like Bobby Bland, James Hunter, Paul Pena, Jimmy Reed, Jimmy Witherspoon, Sonny Boy Williamson, Floyd Dixon, Doc Pomus, and many more.
