Therapy Session was created by singer/songwriter Joel Michalak. It is based out of the Los Angeles area, and though there are guest members that come and go, Joel is the core of the band, writing, recording and performing almost all the instruments himself. Therapy Session's sound is influenced by the angsty early 90's grunge and alternative movement as well as the more intimate, confessional songwriting style you would find in the folk genre. Therapy Session often combines raw distorted guitars, with melodic violins, piano's and vocals.
