Please direct questions to seattle_live@hardrock.com When life seems dark and full of ennui, the troublesome meddling of near-acquaintances and your boss who is, unfortunately, a dickhead gets you down, when your sanity seems most at peril, there is The Awfully Sudden Death of Martha G. We will ride that manic wave with you, although none of us have taken surfing lessons, and at least one of us can't swim. We fill you with wonderful dark visions powered by sarcasm and blithe tenor of Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal. What you lack, when the weight of the world seems most unbearable, is not a light at the end of the tunnel, it is The Awfully Sudden Death of Martha G. Q: on you first track here, flat Black Suitcase...a question for A.Bukowski...your tone is so cool, are you overdrive your speakers or do you have some effect that lets you get that 'Fart" Bass sound?
A: I really dig the sound as well, essentially the tone is just obtained by using a sansamp, with a little reverb to add the fuzz. I can't take all the credit though our audio engineer at London Bridge really helped dial in the tone and it sounds great.
