About
The Bubble started as a four-piece three years ago, but after two members left, Lee Hayes and Dave Tomlins decided to take a back seat for a few months and concentrate on other projects.
Early 2007, the new line-up started to come together. Jack Turner was brought in on bass guitar, a mutual friend who joined the boys on a regular basis at 'the Bucanneer' for Jam Night, and Gemma Hayes, Lee's sister, who often came to gigs and got up for the odd song or two. Lee was then approached by Bruce Harding, a local guitar legend, to become their second lead guitarist, bringing with him Joel White, a fabulous guitarist who wanted to try his hand at drumming. On the look out for a second backing singer, Lee asked Rachel Piper, who had been working on some music with him for the last couple of months, to join.
Since then, in the last two and a half years...
- We've played Eastbourne, Brighton and London on a regular basis.
- Made it to the final of 'Showcase 2007'.
- Had two radio stints for Arrow & Sovereign FM.
- Appeared on 'Orange Mobileact Unsigned 2008'.
- Performed with the likes of Bloc Party, Alabama 3 and Charlotte Cooper of the Subways.
- Performed a panto based on our album story, lol!
Early Summer 2008, Joel and Jack both left, Danny Bloomfield joined as our stand-in drummer and James Maxted came in on bass, moving on to drums a couple of months later. Bruce is now on bass, sharing lead guitar on recording.
We have recently began video-blogging our gigs and have recorded our debut album, entitled 'the Love Story'. Buy it now at iTunes, Amazon or CD Baby, priced at £6.99. :)
