Celebrate New Year's Eve With The fabulous Polyjesters!
The Mountain View Music Fest is a multi purpose, 3 day festival in the Town of Carstairs providing the citizens and surrounding rural farming communities the opportunity to come together to appreciate talents in the areas of music, dance, crafts and visual arts. This annual event is to help spotlight local musicians/songwriters, artists and artisans, bring varied professional disciplines of the arts to a more rural audience and contribute to the positive dynamics of our community by promoting public participation and co-operation.
Brothers Sheldon and Jason met in Amsterdam in the summer of 99. It's not that they met each other for the first time, after all, they are brothers, but they met there from different places that they were each visiting. After spending all of their money at museums, galleries, concerts, church donations, and various charities, they realized that they needed to make a living somehow. It was then that the Polyjesters were born. They began busking on the streets and when it started to rain in Amsterdam they went to Nice, France. It was here that they met up with saxophonist Dmitry Shapko and honed their craft and began composing. Later, after being deported for an incident involving a wheel of cheese and a golf cart, the PJ's returned to their homeland in search of better green rooms stocked with ginger ale and meat platters. It was here that they realized that they would never have a normal home life and that they would be subjected to an eternal life on the road, destroying any and every relationship with the fairer sex and working for the common day vampire: agents. WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO THE POLYJESTERS PLAY? This is a very difficult question to answer as they play all kinds of music and usually end up mixing them all together. Sometimes they will even go as far as each member playing a different song or style all together at the same time. For now, we will call their music 'Chunk' which can be described as a mixture of swing, folk, and roots music.
