Ever since The Olive Grove’s lead vocalist and songwriter, Emily Overstreet packed her bags and moved to Portland from Southern Oregon, a myriad of inspiration overtook her. Like the glow of a lightning bug in a glass jar, Emily’s aim is to take these moments and songs on the road, and evening by evening, city by city, soul by soul, release the glow from the jar and let that poetry fill the room with magic.
The Olive Grove’s sound could easily be described as an experimental outpouring of raw emotion. Influenced by their surrounding atmosphere of “anything goes”, any hesitation toward unpredictability is naturally absent. As their new-born popularity takes shape, their music will undoubtedly make the world a more luminescent place.
