This duo , Maria Diamantis and Vince Allen , indulge in wide range of influences. They love styles from metal and flamenco to jazz and Americana. The development of there songwriting is what they call a plan as you go strategy. Using what's best for the song at that moment and that frees up the creative process without being weighed down by egos or plans. They love the use of odd time signatures combined with middle eastern influences and western harmonies. Starting out as an acoustic act (which remains a part of their vast repertoire), then growing into a computer based, procesed vocals, electric guitar driven music that creates a gumbo of psychodelic multifaceted heavy rock songs. The key to their sound , besides the driving guitar and haunting lyrics , is their syncronization and impecable timing. Look for their upcoming cd this fall called CATALYST. And now the duo is getting married after being together for 13 years. Cottonseed is what happens when an Anarchist Spartan gets together with an agnostic African American. YES all hell breaks loose. Come witness the union of these two and enjoy free food bands and funky dance music. This party loving couple plan to get down with all who join them in the gig line up of the century.

Very cool sound and I'm sure it's even better live. We'll try to stop in for a show in Chicago some time.
