The Mighty Surf Lords, Reno's premier instrumental surf band, have been riding the waves since 1994. For Billy Woods, instrumental surf music has been a lifelong love. At age 6 he began listening to The Ventures, and Dick Dale. He then began playing guitar at age 12 and by 14 had played in several rock bands. In later years Billy played in heavy metal bands. Then one day he switched back to his first musical love, surf music, and has never looked back.
