THE CAMPFIRE FESTIVAL: It started as a way to fill a bad booking weekend in 1998, but over the course of more than 10 years, the campfire. festival has become the single-biggest way that Passim develops new talent and celebrates the Boston area’s amazing music scene. Originally called, "On the Cutting Edge of the Campfire,” the festival combined the idea of artists sitting around the campfire playing music with our commitment to bringing new talent to discerning listeners. Today, the campfire. festival is as much about the community as it is about the music. "In the round" performances with songwriters swapping tunes are as common as solo and band sets throughout the course of each day of the festival.

Haunt the House, (Will Houlihan) falls somewhere between a bedroom whispered heart broken prayer and a brilliant repentant cry in the dark. He consistently writes songs that are simple and personal. Wise Old Moon frontman Connor Zane Millican pulls no punches with his lyrics, speaking the truth about his own life and what he sees around him. Although Millican handles the writing duties in the band, he typically performs with a 3-4 piece group of talented young musicians, incorporating acoustic elements like violin, upright bass, guitar, and harmony vocals. Together the band crafts a unique soundscape resembling a blend of Americana, alternative rock, and folk music. The Meadows Brothers play Homegrown Acoustic Folked-up Countrified American RocknRoll. Or Something like that. Brothers Ian (20) and Dustin (18) have been playing music together for a long time. And they plan on continuing to do so.
