Bio
The Maxibons are an Indie-Rock band consisting of Kevin Short, (Vocals, Guitar) Joe White, (Lead Guitar, Vocals) Lewis Hagues (Bass) and Laurance Dumbleton (Drums, Vocals) and formed in the early part of 2008. The four-piece, hailing from the South Coast town of Worthing, met through college, and with numerous failed attempts to start a band as a three piece Kevin, Lewis and Laurence called on Joe to complete the line-up. Inspired by bands like The Cure, The Wombats, Bloc Party etc. The Maxibons combine an edgey rhythm section with catchy melodies, and soon started playing in venues around Sussex, including The Pier Night Club in Worthing, and Laser Hub in Crawley, the band have created a strong fan base in the area. The band has recently been working on their new EP entitled “Stay Calm keep Moving†a four-track Cd recorded in Red Room Studios in Brighton, which will be available to buy and download shortly.Track Listing: 1. Misery Town2. Our Crusade3. Big Up The DJ4. Like A River. The Maxibons believe music is best when it’s live, are actively seeking venues to showcase their material throughout the country and a national tour is scheduled for early 2009. About
Formed in the first quarter of 2008, The Maxibons are a four piece band hailing from the seaside resort of Worthing. Playing an instantly classic and original blend of Indie rock with catchy melodies, The Maxibons are looking to play live shows and gig as much as possible to showcase the tunes to the masses.
2008 has been a good year for the band with the recording of the bands 1st but yet to be released demo, a succession of great shows in and around the local area of Brighton and Worthing Area, and most recently winning the 1st heats of a Battle of the bands competition!
The Maxibons would like to thank the local scene and hopes it continues to grow strong as it shows signs of doing so. It has been great to play with all the bands and be involved and will continue to do so.
We would also like to thank the fans, friends and family for support through out and welcome new alike to enjoy and support are music, as we show no signs of slowing down.
