About
Mary Thomas - Vocals
Ms. Thomas is enjoying a musical career that started in Edmonton 40 years ago with her debut in Gilbert and Sullivans' "The Mikado". Classically trained in voice, piano dance and acting, Mary has performed in the Kiwanis Music Festivals, various musical theatre productions, CKUA and CJSR radio programs, tributes at city hall, as well as freelancing for private functions such as wedding and conferences.
After taking the MacEwan Music Program for Vocal performance, Mary started working with and promoting such notables as Billie Joe Green and Tilo Paez, while working towards her own original music with her bands "Feeling Mary" and "JukeJoint". With the release of her CD "Out from The Shadows" in 2000, Ms. Thomas decided it was time to explore the Blues community where she met and started playing with Brian Petch.
For 8 years Mary and Brian co-hosted the Thursday Night Open Stage at Dusters Pub (now named Chili Peppers), and are now co-hosting the Wednesday Night Open Mic Bike Night at The Foxx Den in St. Albert and once a month at LB's Pub in St. Albert for their great Saturday Afternoon Jam. They have playing with a variety of excellent musicians, and have performed at some of the best venues in and around Edmonton. Mary also hostesses the Saturday Afternoon Jam at The Illustrious Blues on Whyte once a month. She is currently working on her second CD and is happy to be able to perform regularly.
Brian Petch- Guitar
Born in Burnaby B.C. and raised in Georgia Oregon, and California, Mr. Petch started playing guitar at a young age and has been influenced by such greats as Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton. Brian has played with various bands in the U.S. and Canada such as, Adding Reign, 44 DD, Aunt Edna's Spoon Collection, Northern Comfort, the Heather Mackenzie Band, and The Ghettoblasters. Brain hosted the Blues on Whyte Saturday afternoon Jam off and on from 2002 to 2004 and co-hosted the Thursday Night Open Stage at Dusters Pub for 8 years with Mary Thomas. Brian is enjoying his career since moving to Edmonton, and continues to amaze audiences with his soulful styles
Bill Fuhrer - Bass
Bill has enjoyed a long and successful career in Edmonton playing with various bands that include the likes of Blue Gator, The Heather Mackenzie Band, and Northern Comfort, just to name a few. He has been part of the band since 2001 and is a consummate professional and musician who doesn't miss a note or a beat. He has been a great asset to the band and his style has definitely helped to define the sound of the band.
Gator - Drums/Vocals
Aaron Shelemy came to Canada from North Judson Indiana and has been playing professionally for many many years. Gators roots in music started from blues and early rockers such as Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin. His pounding rhythms come out smooth as silk thanks to a quick right foot and an always grooving' feel. Gators fondest memories include backing up Robbie Krieger of the doors and filling in for James Cotton. Gator joined the band in 2007 and completes the sound and feel of the band.
