The Manhattan Project / Press

“The Manhattan Project: I recently saw a bumper sticker that read "Drum Machines Have No Soul - Coalition for the Rehumanization of Music." Now, without getting into a big discussion on the history of electronic music, the technological importance of the New York City Blackout, and all the class politics this simple statement entails, I'd like to disagree. And I think The Manhattan Project would too. This live electronic duo has chosen to learn from their robotic counterparts rather than dismiss them. In fact, the Project's main goal seems to be making human music more robotic. Armed with an arsenal of percussion and synthesizers, they march the fine line between analog and digital. The group seems to understand and insist that despite their self-awareness, musicians are still just cogs in the machine. ”
