Since September of 2006, musicians from all over the world have been coming by the LLOMC to share a couple of songs!
Performers vary from seasoned touring musicians to folks just getting their feet wet with live performance, and our audiences treat them with the respect they deserve!

Welcome to theOPEN MIC CHALLENGE at THE LIZARD LOUNGE Our Format Every Monday night about 20 acts (local and touring) have 2 songs or 10 minutes to perform their original music in front of an audience of peers, music lovers and our weekly celebrity judge. When all acts have performed there will be a short break. At the end of our break.... the big announcement... THE THREE FINALISTS! The 3 finalists will gear up to perform one more song. From the 3 finalists our judge will pick a winner. Performers are judged based on these five categories: Weekly contest winner will receive: B) An invitation to perform in the grand finalists' show @ The Lizard Lounge (Date to be announced.) Sign up: The night is often booked up in advance!!! You may sign up in advance by emailing tom@24hourtom.com or sign up for a future date at the show, where the sign up book can be found every Monday! You may also take your chances every Monday night by signing your name on the 'alternate list' at 7:30. Doors open every Monday night at 7:30. If the current evening's list is full (which it often is) you may sign up as an alternate for the evening and you are welcome to sign up for a future open mic. If there is room on the list you may sign up. You may sign up for another Monday after you have performed. No performer may be on the list twice at any time. There is a $3 cover per performer at the door. About 20 acts per night

THE RULES:
Each performance must be limited to three players per act.
No effects (i.e., amps, pedals, effects, effects, or effects, dogs, cats, flaming bags of anything) are allowed. We provide direct input boxes for guitars and have mics on hand for instruments without pickups.
No drum kits - only scaled down or hand-held percussion is allowed.
Performers must check in for their slot, 40 minutes prior to their scheduled playing time.
Because "playing ability" is a judging criteria, CD Accompaniment Tracks are not allowed.
