“We ran into Jir a while ago in downtown Albuquerque–there he was up on the stage with his guitar, and that guitar was singing. It was sweet, powerful, really moving and he had an extraordinary sound. A couple of weeks ago we caught his show and once again we were struck by this talented musician. It was him, a guitar, and some of his friends up on a small stage. And once again that guitar sang for us… a small crowd was there when he started, but a large crowd was there by the time he was done, and the spell he put on the place was something to behold and be a part of. Jir simply gets up on the stage, plugs in his guitar and the next thing you know the house lights are coming up for some reason and you are sad because the music stopped. We see a lot of shows, and very few of them move us like Jir’s did. He plays for the love of playing, and that shows through.
