The Jam Society has a wide repertoire of music, from their jazz/funk/reggae/rock originals to their tributes to many great musicians. Their style can be most classified as blues/jazz/funk rock, although they perform vast genres of music. In September of 2007, they won a local Battle of the Bands. In June of 2008, they won the annual Birmingham battle of the bands, and they will soon enter a local studio to record their first album. They have recorded a single in studio, and it is being released on iTunes soon.
Ari Teitel, on guitar and vocals, is 14 years old, and in 9th grade. He has used his natural talent not only with his band, but also live with Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and Detroit-area musicians. Amir Edwards, on drums, is 13, and also in 9th grade. He has a very unique style, and is a very experienced drummer, having also played with numerous local bands. He is most definitely a child prodigy, and lets his enormous talent shine.
Jimmy Fox is 17, and is in 12th grade. He has been playing piano/keyboards for 13 years, and plays at numerous places around town, such as local churches, as well as with The Jam Society. Although he plays guitar, his true passion, as you will see, are the keys.
Mason Cormie is 17 and is in 12th grade also. He plays bass in The Jam Society, as well as with the University of Michigan Orchestra.
