Q: hey i went to one of your concerts. i love your band but why did you pick that name? please answer ASAP doing a report due really soon
A: Ha. Good question. Before we ever played anywhere publicaly, we played song around a campfire basically every Friday night. As the never of songs increased, I started having to print out a list of the songs we knew. As a complete joke, I put the name "The Hillbilly Jug Band" on top of the list and it became our unofficial name. Then we decided to go play publicly and we needed a name. Thinking we'd probably never play more than the 1 gig, we used "The Hillbilly JugBand". Little did we know that a lot of folks would come out to the first gig and all of a sudden other venues started calling and we kept playing. Almost 2 years later and nearly 140 gigs later, I think we are stuck with the name. Thanks for asking. What's the report on? Bands with dumb names?
