"A warm turn out for Woodland's Tunes for Trees. Many socialized while eating a dinner provided by the Kiwanis while others sat right in front of the Gibson House and listened to the music of The Hey-Nows! and the Red Rose Ranch Band. One man was seen painting The Hey-Nows! and Gibson House during the performance. The Hey-Nows! are an acoustic-electric band that merges a power pop attitude with an Americana sensibility. During their performance Saturday, they performed multiple covers, including a Neil Young song and another titled 'Environmental Blues.' Formed by singer-songwriters Lee Milhous (6 and 12 string guitar) and Roger Trott (guitar and mandolin), The Hey-Nows! feature Nicolo Scozzari (lap-steel, electric guitar, and dobro), Andrew Sisco (upright-bass), and Andrew Curteman (drums/percussion). The concert and silent auction benefited the Woodland Tree Foundation, a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that plants and cares for trees in the Woodland area."

"I've had the privilege of seeing The Hey-Nows! multiple times and their music is so refreshing. If you haven't heard them yet I recommend that you do."
"Despite the exclamation point in its name, the Hey-Nows! tread softly, and the band doesn't make a puzzle of itself. Its 1960s-era pop-art logo distinctly resembles the branding for the iconic Beatles film A Hard Day's Night, and, naturally, the Fab Four is listed among its influences. Others include the Byrds, Elliott Smith, Whiskeytown and Crowded House, the musical proclivities of whom have been incorporated into the Hey-Nows! like ingredients in a pie. The Yolo County-based band is led by veteran musicians Lee Milhous and Roger Trott, who, after all these years, still demonstrate reverence for the greats in pop that came before them."
"The Hey-Nows were awesome last night at Rootstock in Winters. Their harmonies, reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel, and solid rhythm section, are precise but still soulful. Their originals range from edgy to sublime, but all are intelligently written, and there is a gentleness that threads its way through even the edgy stuff. These guys have been playing in the Woodland/Davis/Winters areas. Don't miss them when they come to your town."
“The Hey-Nows! are born...”

"Saw The Hey-Nows! at Luna's the other day. Other bands I could not remember, but it could because The Hey-Nows! play great acoustic pop. Definitely have a mid-90's vibe about them, and it's fun to listen to :)"

"The Hey-Nows! Show Redeemed Venue - Last week I attended the performance of my friends Larry & Roger of the The Hey-Nows! at Shenanigans. It ended up being a rather decent night. SOUND: Let's just say that in terms of music performance and appreciation, this was a far far better night in which the quiet acoustic sets by all the participants could be truly appreciated. The sound system was more than adequate to be meet the needs of the performers and enhanced the acoustics of the guitars. LIGHTING: Not crazy about the lighting scheme. I found it way too dark for The Hey-Nows!, and it took the wife of the 2nd performer to complain to the systems-staff to get some lighting on the stage. LOWDOWN: Overall, a vast improvement of my prior two times here for shows and so I feel compelled to bump up the rating.
