Bio
Members are Matthew Williams (guitar/vocals), Tommy Somerville (keys/vocals), AJ Adams (pedal steel/lap steel/guitar), and Seth Hendershot (drums/vocals). Matthew, Seth, and AJ are former members of the national touring act Blueground Undergrass with David Blackmon and Rev. Jeff Mosier. Tommy is a member of the Atlanta based jazz/latin ensemble, Squat. As Blueground, the guys played Wakarusa Festival, 10,000 Lakes Festival, Magnolia Fest. Collectively, the band has played thousands of shows for thousands of people. Members have also played with such groups as Capt. Soularcat, Dubconcious, Grogus, The Healers, Dysfunktion Junktion, Warm in the Wake, Abbey Road Live, Cosmic Charlie, Thunder Monkey, and many more.
About
The sound the band creates is a sophisticated blend of Americana, Alt. Country, Indie rock, and western swing. The songs are tastefully structured and radio ready, but written with enough room to breathe in a live setting. This allows the players to showcase their individual talents and create a truly dynamic show for audiences worldwide.
The goal of the band is to write great songs to record and perform live. With over one hundred recording credits each the band is no stranger to the studio. In addition, members of the band have appeared at many major festivals from the east coast to the west coast of the U.S. as well as internationally in countries such as Germany, India, Holland, Mexico, and Japan. All the members have performed at a number of music venues across the U.S. and gained large fan bases respectively.
Currently The Granfalloons are in the recording process at The Troubador Den Studio in Athens GA. in an effort to release a full length album by the spring of 2008. The band is promoted by Moonstruck Promotions and is seeking label and booking representation.
