About
- The Glowering Eyes came together in a way that seems now like the design of unseen forces. An ex girlfriends apartment hunt turned into our chance meeting. A custom double neck guitar and a small pile of electronics can speak volumes about a person so with that out of the way we immediately started sharing great plans. From our very first session together we were writing songs and building something much more than just a collection of tracks. We were crafting a style all our own. Part Shoegaze part Electronica, mindful of classic Country and filtered through Industrial, we don't need (and can't find) a single word for what we do. If Donny and Marie did Depeche Mode covers and had Muse as a backup band they would probably sound like us..........Or not.- Lady E served her time for six years as front woman for San Francisco's “Agness.” Well loved and remembered for their powerfully visual live shows, Agness spent time in rotation on KUSF and KFJC before coming to and end in 2002. With the end of Agness it was time for change so she moved to LA where she attended and graduated from the Musicians Institute in 2005. While at M.I. her song “whisky dick” was selected for an ASCAP sponsored compilation of student recordings. The song was taken from her first solo effort the “Agness Twin Project.” Those recordings, along with the first Glowering Eyes EP “so i an break your heart” have helped define her as a persona well beyond just a voice.
- Drew Pluta was lucky enough to experience and participate in two of the most influential music scenes of the late 80's and 90's first hand. Growing up in Louisville during the birth of the Hardcore/DIY movement and then moving to Chicago at the height of Industrial makes for a solid background. While in Chicago awaiting a pending record deal as a solo artist, he accepted a position in “Arcanta,” a new band that had recently signed to the very exclusive Projekt Records. Arcanta's first album “the eternal return” went on to influence a renewal in Goth culture. In 1997 they were named one of the top ten bands changing the future of Goth by Alternative Press magazine and toured both the U.S and Mexico.
