About
Based out of Chapel Hill, The Friday Afternoon Jam puts on a high energy, tightly jammed show at every gig. Born in jam sessions held every Friday afternoon, the group now presents focused sets with a host of original pieces and a few covers and teases thrown in for good measure. Their versatile sound encompasses genres from jazz to bluegrass to hip-hop as the instrumentation also changes throughout the night to include mandolin and harmonica on various songs. Whether they're working through a climactic jam on their staple "The Same to Me," working through their riff-based tune "The Devil," or destroying a surprise cover, every song is played with unparalleled passion and energy. They've played an assortment of venues around Chapel Hill and on campus and are set to take on even more.
