“Wed Feb 26 Words By The Fix Posted In Reviews Accompanied by the large brassy sounds of The Mike Stewart Band, Mike and Steve Foenander enter stage right like the seasoned performers they are. Gaining much recognition from their time on Australia’s Got Talent in 2013, there’s no doubting the skill and pizzazz these brothers have; something that comes only from many years spent performing on stage. As their father watched proudly from front row, and a seat reserved for their adoring (late) mother, The Foenander Brothers swing their way through many of the classics like Come Fly With Me, I’ve Got You Under My Skin and New York, New York. Mike’s touching rendition of Love Story (Where Do I Begin?) was as outstanding as Steve’s Me And Mrs Jones. Mike possesses a strong, punchy voice, whereas Steve has more smooth undertones; different as their vocal approaches are, together – in unison or in harmony – their voices make for the perfect musical combination.
