“On Friday 16th August, I had the great pleasure & privilege to be the MC for the Valley Folk Club Showcase at The Pontardawe Arts Centre.......
Initially part of the Pontardawe Arts Centre Summerfest, it became a standalone event when the rest of the Summerfest was cancelled. Undaunted, the Valley Folk Club went ahead. There were 16 acts on the bill.
The performers were all people who had played at the Valley Folk Club singers nights, held at the Ivy Bush Inn, Pontardawe on the first Friday of the month, 8pm onwards. It was a wonderful opportunity to sing on the main stage of such a beautiful venue. All the acts were thoroughly appreciated by the audience, who filled the Arts Centre’s main auditorium, with cabaret seating.......
Thisperformances went down very well with the audience who were then handed over to "The Empty Shed Experience" who closed the show with a polished performance.

Except for the odd spot of rain, the weather stayed fine for the majority of the day, at this midday to midnight festival which was held on the pitch at Mynyddygarreg Rugby Club.
There were loads of great live music performances both on the main stage and in the acoustic tent and the event included countless eclectic acts. I was not able to get to see every performance as due to bad time planning I did not get to Mynyddygarreg until around 3pm.
Some of my highlights of the day included The Empty Shed Experience on the acoustic stage who put on a very uplifting and melodic set which included a guest vocalist on their first song and at the end of their set a further guest appearance from Lee Shears of The Ecko who played harmonica on a fabulously well played cover of the Led Zeppelin song Rock N Roll.”
