What's The Alternative?... THIS IS! Reject corporate pop and revel in true independence Sonic Candy Soul is the name of The Electric Stars first album, and the name certainly fits the sweet aural pleasure of the anthemic opening chant Beautiful Music For Beautiful People; they are busy with their second album for Detour records but ‘the stars’ take a break to play Whats The Alternative?. Meanwhile Manchester's The Speed Of Sound continue to ply their original music that manages to cross the Velvet Underground with The Jam and Neil Young with Siouxsie & The Banshees in their own idiosyncratic way. Live from 9pm £7 (£4 concessions)

Q: Does Jason Edge write all the songs by himself?

A: hey, thanks for your question and apologies it's (a few months) late! The Electric Stars have been mega busy recording but now I am on the case to help these fab guys out with their busy lives. Anyway, I can confirm that The Electric Stars all take part in writing the songs. Hope this late answer helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions and they'll be answered in a day or two. Cheers, Kat and the guys
