About

Out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, comes THE EARLY EFFECT, a four-piece group writing and performing what they call "Northern Progressive Music." Formed in 2005 with instrumentation in the classic Power Trio mold and dual-vocal harmonies, THE EARLY EFFECT draw influences from a variety of sources, including '60s Psychedelic music, '70s Prog, Classic Rock and Metal, as well as non-traditional sources like early 20th century Classical, Free Jazz, and Spaghetti Westerns.
Using these genres as a jumping-off point instead of a template, guitarist and Fender Rhodes keyboardist James Gould, drummer Mark Larson, lead vocalist Russ Staiger, and bassist and vocalist Karl Wahoske strive to create unique yet resonate, complex yet accessible music.
THE EARLY EFFECT is currently putting the finishing touches on "Now, Silent Moon, Speak," their debut album. "Now, Silent Moon, Speak" is a five-song disc featuring over 40 minutes of original Northern Progressive Music that includes the following songs: The Monkey and The Chug; The Factory Song; High Noon Strut; 2012: In the Time of the End, In the Time of the Beginning; and Perpetual Motion Machine: a) Falling Wheels b) Manifesto.
