Twistin Dance Party, OPEN to the public, Cash only for non-Members
Three local musical recording and performance artist have joined together to bring the Frederick Music scene a fresh, original, fun, and danceable musical alternative. The dRIVIN bEATS are made up of former Frederick original bands including The Skeptics, The Left, The Voodoo Love Gods, Johnny Twilight and the Zones and Y-Five. Members include Kaptain Krunch on Guitar, Drew Starr on Bass and Twilight on drums. The sound of the group has a clean 60’s feel that lends itself to twisting. It’s an American- Mod sound that’s lighthearted and rhythmically will force you onto the dance floor. The dRIVIN bEATS are scheduled to record a number of original songs this summer at a local recording studio and are casting for a music video which will be shot this fall. Open casting will be taking place Saturday June the 30th at Belles’ 1202 East Patrick St. in Frederick, at 9 o’clock. All interested should come in 60’s mod attire and be prepared to twist. The dRIVIN bEATS are currently under negotiations for distribution.

“Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today. Drew Starr: Hey kids, Kaptain Krunch (KK) and I got together in January of 2012. KK was playing bass in a band called The Left and they were doing a memorial show for two of our friends who had passed away. KK and I hadn’t seen each other for a while and we started talking about doing a rock ‘n roll inspired garage band with a lot of harmonies. We started jamming in my basement and we worked out about 11 original songs. Kaptain Krunch: Frederick, Maryland. I don’t know exactly. Seems like this is where it ended up and here I am still struggling in this business. follow link to see rest of interview”
