The Distant Seconds formed in late 2005 in Austin, TX and consist of Matt Baab on guitar and vocals, Kirk Miles on bass, Charlie Ewing on drums, and Brandon Bunch on keyboards.

In 2008 the band released its debut album "Spectral Evidence.", reviewed positively by Austinsound.net, LMNOP, Dagger, and Lost at Sea, as well as other media sources.

A 2009 single/EP as well as other track releases are in the works for this year.

Influences include Wire, Gang of Four, X, Television, and Pavement.
