The Dirt Floor Band / Press

“The Dirt Floor Band four guys from Willits and one from Potter Valley had "quite the year" in 2011, playing their "barefoot punk-grass" at gigs from San Francisco to Humboldt County. "It kinda came together this summer," said Adam Sullivan, who plays acoustic and electric guitars and mandolin and sings for the band. "We played nine straight weekends this summer. We're starting to get real good." The band has a following of enthusiastic fans who love The Dirt Floor's high-energy up-tempo beats that invite the audience to "join in and dance till their feet blister." "It sounds like Bill Munroe and John Hartford playing Led Zeppelin covers at Studio 54," Sullivan said. Highlights of the summer performances, Sullivan said, included two sets at the first annual Gaia Festival in Laytonville, which featured internationally recognized artists such as India Arie, the Wailers, Aaron Neville, the Mighty Diamonds and John Trudeau. "We had a main stage slot, which was amazing," Sullivan said. ”

“The Dirt Floor Band entertains at the Barn stage at Saturday's Rivertown Revival Festival. Organizers said that 8,300 people attended the event (2,000 more than planned), which raised money for programs and staffing at the River Heritage Center which will be housed inside the former Ghiradelli barn.”
