The Colder Climes began to form in October 2008 above a dry ice distribution facility off University Ave in St. Paul, MN. Their gradual evolution continued over the next two years bringing in a fourth member to the band: Neal Swanger (vocals), Edward Davidson (drums), Daniel Leussler (bass), and Amanda Griswold (viola).
