They have also found supporters in Radio 1‘s Rob Da Bank (They play both Bestival & Camp Bestival this summer), Radio 1‘s Mike Davies (for whom they have been ‘song of the year’), 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and XFM’s John Kennedy for whom they recently recorded a session for. This summer they can also be found on the main stage at Boardmasters in Newquay as well as at the Boomtown fair and a special single launch at London’s 12 bar club on the 24th of July. They have also been invited to perform on the ‘Emerging icons’ stage at the London 2012 Olympics, have had their music featured on BBC Three TV show ‘lip service’ and have been playlisted in River Island stores across the country. They have played over 250 shows from Glasgow to the Netherlands, initially dragging acoustic guitars and ukulele’s around the train & coach networks. The band consist of members from London, Gloucestershire & Devon but found each other in the capital where they are now based. Like London, their sound is a collision of cultures & styles brought together with a refreshing optimism which is both addictive & contagious. ‘It made me instantly happy when I heard it’ Huw Stephens BBC Radio 1 ‘Great tip there from Huw Stephens…genius song’ Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music ‘Absolutely brilliant’ John Kennedy (in session) Xfm ‘The Pigeon EP’ available now from iTunes ad Amazon MP3, hard copies available at shows and from our online store: http://gecko.bigcartel.com/. They are each individually put together by hand using recycled materials. They are also screen printed and hand numbered. EP ‘Stop, look, lizard!’ available now from iTunes and Amazon MP3 as well as being available to stream for free on Spotify. London based band Gecko’s fresh take on acoustic pop is a flood of optimism and energy. Think Vampire Weekend’s indie take on world music via Roots Manuva wordplay. This is party music with a singer songwriter’s eye for a story.

The Calling Card is comprised of three musicians from the small town of Lawrenceville, GA. The heart of the band is Garrett Leinemann that hurls every ounce of power and energy into his drum set to create the effect of a bewildered heartbeat.
