“First up are The Burial Season, who for the musically inclined amongst us might strike you as odd that they have no bass player. However, as the band launch into their particular brand of down-tuned metal, it quickly becomes apparent that this doesn't matter. Guitarist Dan dials up a bass-heavy sound from his amplifier and the low end is filled out quite nicely. Hairy lead singer Bryan treats a small but quickly-growing crowd to an energetic- and very vocal- performance right from the start with a voice that sounds like a cement mixer being dragged across a blackboard and whirlwind stage presence, and the rest of the band become more relaxed as the set progresses. Musically, the band are tight and well rehearsed, attacking their instruments with the precision and speed that only this kind of music can justify. The Burial Season refuse to disappoint and on that happy note, they are writing material for a new EP they hope to record. Look out for that one”
