About
Singers wanted. Writers wanted. Karaoke stars wanted. Add to our music. Remix it. Rewrite it. Whatever. And the best collaborations will be mastered and sold via itunes, all collaborators get a cut.
But it's not just about music, We like having a go at a bit of everything. Join us. Who knows? The future is an ocean.
SAN PAOLO (DJ Cloud T megamix): A rare dancefloor remix of Beach Bar Classix, by legendary West Country dico legend Cloud T. This seven minute mix is totally mental, the much vaunted 18 minute version has been vetoed, on the basis that dancers were collapsing from exhaustion after 15 minutes or so, as it really is that bonkers....
BEACH BAR CLASSIX (2004): A blast from the past as occasional collaborator Superstar DJ Kurt Bollwinkle emerges with a rare track from his Beach Bar Classix Volume 3 (2004) sessions. He's much better by the way, but still rejecting his hedonistic balearic past in favour of weedier pursuits with his "Tambourine Dream" outfit.
ANGER MANAGMENT SELF HELP PROGRAM: We team up with Estlin label mates "Melowwwdrome" to provide the backing for one of their self-help programs. But did we guage it correctly? Let us know....
DISMAL VALENTINE: A compendium of low-grade gifts given at various Birthday, Anniversaries. Helpful suggestions from many people. My favourite? A dymo printer. Dismal!
GOODBYE TO YOU: A relatively serious song - reflecting on the past, we pen a moving lament to the 1970's. But our preoccupations are fairly trivial - we're mourning the loss of the Johnny Astro balloon/fan game, Sekiden pistols, Bagpuss and Mr Benn. (Ian M: guitar, ebow, bass, drums. Rob K, vocals. Richard A: guitars. Neil W: keyboards, percussion)
SUNARISE: A new track, co-authored by occasional vocalist Rob Kitson - destined to become the theme tune for jilted wives, husbands and stalkers everywhere. We seamlessly blend the tale of a philandering husband with a hopeless lover speculating about exactly what his ex is up to. Lyrically, a little confusing, but I think we got away with it. (Ian M: guitar, lyrics, ebow, bass, drums. Rob K, vocals, lyrics. Richard A: guitars)
CRISPS AND CAKES: An early morning encounter at an airport with a group of lager swilling blokes, led to this faintly amusing speculation of how English blokes get quite so, well, lardy. (Ian M: lyrics, guitar, ebow, bass, drums. Rob K, vocals)
23 DAYS: A collaboration with Bulgarian bedroom remixer Daniel Markovski, saw his simple 1 minute piano loop turn into a full blown song. (Ian M: guitar, lyrics, vocals, Daniel M: loops, Neil W: arrangement, loops drums and keyboards)
SATNAV: We issue an invitation to passing alien races to come and dominate us. C'mon you lizard overlords. (Ian M: guitar, lyrics, keyboards, bass, drums. Neil W: keboards, drums)
DINNER PARTY 1973: Imagine a dinner party populated by an unlikely cast of 70s celebrities and throw in a time-appropriate menu (goulash, brandy snaps) and you'll be close. (Ian M: guitar, vocals, lyrics, keyboards, bass, drums. Zoe B: lyrics and concepts, Neil W: keboards, drums)
BAD DANCING AT THE MONGOLIAN YOUTH CLUB: A rare collaboration witn US Tuvan Igil maestro, John Pacuzzi. (John P: Igil, drums, Ian M: Guitars and fretless bass)
SO MUCH FUN (25th ANNIVERSARY): A classic 80's track and John Peel favourite (well he played it twice), featuring Sohep's orginal singer. (Rob K: lyrics, vocals, Neil W: keyboards, guitar, Ian M: backing vovals, yelping, guitar, bass)
TIME MACHINE (DEMO): An archive trawl found this fine demo - much better than the slightly dull final version. (Neil W: keyboards, Ian M: backing vovals, yelping, guitar, bass)
