About
Hey everyone,
We're The American Couch Potatoes. We don't have much, but look around, send us an email, anything you want. We will have music up soon. We promise. Seriously. Until then just bear with us!
With love,
Ja, Mike, Lauren and Mason
Biography
Ja Bisaga and Michael Pierce met in the summer of '07 while working at their church's VBS (Ja was the fun loving kid hearder and Mike was the serious but almost as fun loving security guard with a walkie-talkie). Mike thought that Ja was some intruder and tackled him. They've been friends ever since.
NOTE: Ja can take Mike down just as easily as Mike can take Ja down.
At camp later that summer, they hung out and decided, hey, why not form a band? Mike had his guitar and his amp (or his "distortion," as he calls it) and Ja could easily get a guitar from some other person. He ended up borrowing Ben's Ibanez. Thanks Ben. They disputed over several names, such as The Skinny Fat People (?) and The Intervention. In the end, they decided on The American Couch Potatoes. Armed with instruments that could shatter glass, they rocked out. One problem. They needed singers and a drummer. Their original drummer quit after about 5 minutes, because, as he said, he was "busy." They ended up getting a temporary drummer named Javvi (cool name, and no, he's not Indian or Jamacan) and several singers whose names that we cannot recall at the moment. We think one of them was named Carol.
So they started practicing. Unfortunately, there was no good place to practice, so by the time the talent show rolled around, everyone had heard them. They pretty much didn't mess up too bad. People were cool with them. Of course they have gotten several complaints over time from people that are definitely not named Monica ("You guys can't play to save your lives") and definitely not named David ("I've gotten some other complaints..."). And those are our friends.
When we got back, the American Couch Potatoes got a bassist, Lauren, and a permanent drummer, Mason. Ja became one of the permanent singers (you should hear him playing Rock Band!) and is not emo in any way, shape, or form. Even his hair.
