Terje Eide / Press

“On The Rise - Dream Zone. Expectations were really high on this production and here it is, a fantastic production by Terje Eide! First CD by On The Rise got a great reception by both myself and the rest of the all AOR fans, this time releasing On The Rise their second CD Dream Zone, melodic songs with nice rocking and heavy guitars. You just have to congratulate to great craftsmanship. Favorite track so far is track 8 "Fly Away" and track 12 "Howling At The Moon"! Highly recommended!! Rating: 10/10”

“Vocally Terje has a classic AOR voice that seems to be reminiscent of most of the greats, there's a little Gramm a smidge of Perry and even a touch of John Elefante in the mix, however his performance is never derivative of anyone. The vocal arrangements are excellent and their gloss and sheen truly lift the album. Rating: 4/5”

“On The Rise - Dream Zone The first OTR album was good, but I couldn't really get to where I love it. This one works much better for me, and has caused me to give the first one another try. Some great songs on here.”

“The playing and production really are top draw. Like the debut album this one will sail effortlessly into my year end 'Best Of' list. Rating: 4,5/5”

“Would rate it a bit better than Andrews 85 (melodicrock.com). And have to disagree - this one is better than the debut. Classic melodic rock, ultra catchy songs that keep in mind. Best tracks are the title track and "Fly away". Have hardly heard a better cd in 2009 so this will be on my top 3 list. Essential. Rating: 92/100”

“Great tunes from a guy that brings a whole 'band sound' to the table, with his harmonious intrigue intact, he does more within just a few songs than so many try to do on a whole record. Rating: 4/5”

““Dream Zone” is the long-awaited sophomore effort for On The Rise, which first took shape 10 years ago. Eide sings his songs with conviction, with lyrical themes that are straight out of the AOR playbook – a handful of love songs, handful of inspirational “don’t give up” anthems, and so on. His vocal tone and musical style reminds me of 80s-era Tommy Shaw.”

“The good news is that survivor Eide is still doing a magnificent job. Most of the 13 songs on offer are solo writings and to be honest: the man knows how to write a catchy song. And that’s not all: listening to “Dream Zone”. Count to that the excellent production job (Eide again!) and the conclusion can only be that “Dream Zone” is the (long-awaited) excellent successor. Rating: 6/6”

“So now Terje is back with the 2nd album and this time around his the only member. This is a very good AOR album filled with fluffy keyboards, strong melodies and catchy hooklines. Terje sings very good and the production is competent. Rating: 4/5”

“I had the chance to meet Terje Eide at Melodicrock fest this year, he is truely one of the nicest guys in the music business makes it even easier to support anything he does in the future. Rating: 5/5”

“How can you go wrong if you’re a pure melodic rock and AOR fan, just classic stuff here folks. One of the most enjoyable listening experiences in the genre today. Terje Eide was quoted as saying about the record “The songs are catchy, groovy and they’ve got the strong choruses and melody lines that I always want them to have.” He hit it right on point here, I couldn’t agree more with his assessment, is a top notch melodic rock record, with plenty of mood changes and high flying anthems, enough to please fans who like it trendy and melodic at the same time, along with terrific musicianship. Go pick this one, highly recommended!!! Rating: 4/5”

“I don't know why, but On the Rise remembers me to canadian bands most. Bands like Triumph, Harlequin, even some Saga and Rush. And this for my opinion is not the worst reference for a band that plays AOR music. If you like good arranged, melodic rock songs you should give this project a listen. Terje Eide did a great job, if you know that this guy did all (or most) of the arrangements and instruments by himself. Norway, welcome to the melodic universe. You can see me impressed. Rating: 16/20”
