– The LPM Voice
Capable of generating powerful sound and energy with an acoustic guitar, and with the addition of an electric guitar in the live show, Teo Peralez delivers fast, loud, diverse music. Teo Peralez mixes vocals, harmonies, and lyrics that are honest, inspire the imagination, and often satirical.
Teo Peralez’s music has garnered comparison to Johnny Cash, ranging from country twang to folksy-blues jams, from soft acoustic ballads to explosive indie rock that showcases the acoustic guitar as an instrumental centerpiece of modern rock.
Teo Peralez has strong roots in music. Teo Peralez's father and electric guitar player, Kenny Peralez, is a skilled guitarist and ran a small studio venture in the family's home in Lincoln, Neb. This home studio served local talent in every genre, and exposed Teo Peralez to various styles.
Teo Peralez always took interest in his father's guitars, and received his first acoustic guitar at the age of six. At 11, Teo Peralez began writing original music, though he never received formal guitar instruction.
Teo Peralez’s early work is characterized by power-chord based "punk.” Teo Peralez had compiled enough songs to constitute his first CD release, "Road of Isolation," when he was only 16. These 24 tracks explored topics of relationship dramas and teenage introspections on school cliques and feelings of being different.
Teo Peralez began performing at coffee houses and pizzerias to refine his sound. In the summer of 2006, he recorded the "Leaving Longmont EP," a collection of newer material that suggested a transition in his sound from punk to alternative-folk.
After his first year of college, Teo Peralez recorded "The Smell of Burning Leaves.” This professionally-made CD is a philosophical compilation of music dealing with mature topics of depression, poverty, politics, and social norms.
Teo Peralez's latest songs build on “The Smell of Burning Leaves,” adding new styles to his repertoire, such as alternative-country, Americana, and hints of classic rock. Teo Peralez has been busy writing and recording new material. He hopes to release a compilation of his new songs on CD this spring.
