A world based around herself and her unique sound, her artist name is "Tasha's World" and anyone who contributes towards the growth of this project becomes a member of her World. Every now and then an artist comes of age and announces to the universe, "Here I am. Check this out!" She brings to the crazy world of music, freshness and positive musical energy, full of innovation and fun. This young lady is ready to share her soul with you and we want you to join us in "Tasha's World".
Living between London and Rotterdam, this young lady started singing before she could even speak. Her musical influences include greats such as Quincy Jones, Bob Marley, Anita Baker & Curtis Mayfield to name but a few. TW's musical journey has been one of continuous growth. In 2002 Tasha's World signed to The Klinik Music Productions who are proud to have a genuine quality artist such as Tasha's World representing Europe! TW is an accomplished singer/songwriter and this is evident when you listen to her intense thought-provoking lyrics. She has written the large majority of her songs but is not afraid to open up to other writers who understand her style and who she is songs are written on the same day of recording so this can truly be called organic soul.
TW's musical journey has seen her perform to thousands of people around the world. Having previously toured Germany and The Netherlands with American crooners “Rough Endz” where she gained equal billing and then with "Flip Da Script" which took her all over Europe taking part in the hectic festival circuit. This tour brought her into contact with many international artist such as "Gabrielle", "Phats & Small" and "Five" and has gained her even more invaluable touring experience. Since then her Manager has planned a complete promotional tour covering the whole of The Netherlands. "Tasha's World" has taken every opportunity to perform. One of her first live performances since enlisting the services of her was her performance at the Jill Scott official after party at The Paradiso in Amsterdam on 22/23 February, 2002. Jill Scott stood and watched with disbelief that this girl was actually Dutch and unsigned. Jill Scott sang along and clapped after every track. When the show was over she screamed "More...More" and waited to greet Tasha's World after the show. All of this hard work has seen "Tasha's World" perform at the Lowlands Festival with attendance figures of over sixty thousand people. She headlined the India Tent, which showcased all of the Essent Award winners and rocked the tent attended by 7,000 people. Prior to the Lowlands performance, she was awarded an Essent Award which is an award given to the acts most likely to become household names in the very near future. "Tasha's World" is also proud to be the first unsigned artist with the most press pages in the history of The Netherlands.
Taking every opportunity to perform with appearances on television shows such as Rayman Is Laat, Bradaz, the MTV Europe “Drum Rhythm Special” and in September 2002 she was on the MTV Lowlands special. "Tasha's World'" has also appeared on Paradiso Life, one of the most credible live televised music programmes in Holland – this has all helped to boost the profile of this young lady.
TW's first album, the self-entitled Tasha's World received great accolades and is regarded as a 'classic'. That type of recognition is priceless - a classic album = timeless! The album was first available in Japan on Avex and then taken up by UK independent Dome Records in 2003 for Europe. Support from international and national radio stations of respective countries was strong. Tracks from the album appeared on numerous compilations around the world including Australia, France and the UK thus expanding the fan base even further. Having appeared at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland and South Africa, S.O.B.'s in New York, The Jazz Cafe in London, Suriname and far too many more festivals in Holland to mention, TW has been seen by thousands. Seeing TW perform live ignites the dynamic and distinctive blend of her true organic soul music. The passion and hair-tingling emotions within extend to those who see and hear her. TW is free in mind and spirit and soul and gives the audience everything they want in a live performance....Strong, Powerful and Righteous (or honesty, warmth and energy.) The ultimate goal being to keep real music alive and kicking! From her travels of performing around the world, Natascha has gained fans from the likes of Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Amp Fidler, T.Y. and Rahsan Patterson. All of this was accomplished on the back of the first album and great live shows. With this album “World Domination”, we expect TW to reach an even wider and more varied audience.
The past few years has seen Tasha's World receive a Nat West Emma Award (UK), a Silver Harp (NL), The Essent Award (NL) and rave reviews in some of the most respected international music magazines. An upcoming performance for the world-renowned charity War Child, a publishing contract signed with Chrysalis Music and so much more....the future for Tasha's World is definitely long term, with or without huge chart success.
