Bio
Hi! My name is Tad Dreis. I’m a singer-songwriter based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I play the guitar and harmonica and sing songs about love, human-insect envy, kittens in trees, love, roadtrips and roadkill. I have three CDs, which I recorded in my home studio. I wrote the songs, sang, and played most of the instruments. “Play To Remember” came out in 2005, “Solitaire For Two” was in 2003, and “Yours Asleep” kicked things off in 2001. My fourth CD will be coming out in spring 2009. I travel quite a bit and perform maybe seventy to a hundred shows a year at colleges and other venues. Most of the time, it’s just me on vocals, guitar, and harmonica. In 2008, I began playing shows with a backup band as well.
About
Tad Dreis is a traveling singer/songwriter who plays Beatles-influenced acoustic music with heart and a sense of humor, plus a rocking harmonica. Audiences have bought hundreds of his original CDs at shows, and colleges keep bringing him back for repeat performances. They even voted for him at the national A.P.C.A. conference and placed him among the Top Five picks for "Best Solo Act" in 2006.
A few years ago, Tad saw his first tumbleweed. This was in Kansas. He was considering stopping to see The World's Largest Prairie Dog, but then he saw his first tornado and decided to keep driving.
Tad Dreis is keenly interested in most things, and looks forward to sharing a few stories with you.
