The 2011 NYC WINTER JAZZFEST will feature over 60 different jazz groups during the Arts Presenters (APAP) conference. Similar to past years the festival will provide an opportunity for artists to showcase in front of presenters, promoters, talent buyers, educators, musicians and avid fans. Over 5000 arts professionals will be in New York City for the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conference from January 7-11. As there will be hundreds of showcases scheduled throughout the weekend around the city both at the Hilton Hotel and in alternative venues, Winter Jazzfest offers APAP conference attendees, and the general public, the opportunity to experience the best of today's new live jazz and experimental music in club venue settings.

Featuring Sameer Gupta Marc Cary Neel Murgai Arun Ramamurthy Rashaan Carter Namaskar (CD release March 1, 2011) marks a fresh and innovative approach towards jazz, Indian, and soul music. Co-produced with longtime associate pianist Marc Cary, this partnership offers a new direction in musical possibilities with the most organic, creative musical experience ever bridging classical Indian melodies and American music. Sameer Gupta has assembled an astonishing line up of Elder Indian classical musicians of the highest caliber, including the renowned Pt. Anindo Chatterjee (tabla) and Pt. Ramesh Mishra (sarangi). The entire ensemble pushes the boundaries of music of today navigating through beautiful compositions---invoking lyrical depth, improvisational acumen, and intensely seductive sounds.
