Syndicate is an original metal band based out of Gloucester County, VA. and was formed in 2005. The old school bands they grew up listening to, as well as the modern bands of today, all influence Syndicate's unique sound.
About
The four members that make up Syndicate are a dedicated group of musicians. Always striving for the best and never falling into any short-lived trend traps, their music stands out. With the oldest member just turning 21 and the average age being 19, accompanied with a fierce, nonstop high energy live show, its no surprise why this group of young, hard working musicians amaze listeners at every show they play. Syndicate’s music is often described as modern metal with a heart of old school thrash, including impressive guitar solos, pummeling rhythms, catchy yet intricate melodies, solid harmonies and a plethora of fret board trickery. Their music takes in different musical elements and blends them seamlessly into their innovative metal onslaught. Whether it is from classical to blues, from hardcore to thrash or from straightforward to progressive you will never guess what this metal quartet will throw at you next.
Syndicate started back in 2006 with guitarists Gary and Mike, Charles (drums) and original bassist Daniel. In the summer of 2006 the band parted ways with Daniel and was then replaced by Drew (who at the time had only been playing bass for 8 months), solidifying the lineup as it stands now. With only a tiny handful of backyard parties and 2 high school talent shows under their belts, it wasn’t until after mid 2007 that Syndicate first hit the local scene. At that time 3/4th of the band were still in high school. The band has evolved immensely since its incarnation, and continues to do so at a quite rapid pace. They stand strong on evolving as musicians and always staying true and humble to their fans.
But of course with every trial there is bound to be an error and challenge down the road and every member in this band is no stranger to hard times. Not to be outdone by such events, they always look to each other and their high level of commitment and dedication to make it through anything rough life has to offer. They consider this one of their most powerful strengths.
Syndicate is currently in the process of preparing for a 2009 demo and what they have to offer with this new material is their greatest work yet. With each new song they write, they progress more as individuals and even more as a band. This is clearly evident in their balls to the wall live show.
Syndicate looks anxiously to the months that lie ahead in 2009 and beyond and are determined to prove why they are a band worth checking out! Stay tuned; the best is yet to come!
