Being enthusiasts of jazz, we decided to create a band and established SWING?? trio. The band consists members from the Singapore Polytechnic Jazz Band and is still ongoing doing local shows and performance in pubs/bars and public places.  

It all started with the three of us; Amir (Bass), Darren (Piano) & Rafaee (Drums), just jamming a few chords from the standard fake book during a CCA drive, someone in a cowboy suit and hat approached us and asked us whether we are interested to perform jazz for the public. He eventually became our Band leader for the band. He's none other than our Mentor - Mr. Cole Yee, Tenor Sax. from Thomson Jazz Band. From then onwards, we were under his tutelage and deem to explore jazz music. We started our performances on a smale scale. Started out with school functions and community performances. Since our mentor has large networks of connection, we managed to receive performances for important functions - Award ceremonies, Wedding Functions, Festival Celebration etc. From there, we decided to come up with a name of our own name and roam further. Thus we officially establish SWING?? trio on 2nd May 2007. Occasionally, Mr Yee will be joining us for the performances. So, even though we regard ourselves as a trio band, we are still expanding our band members. We were thinking of having more members on the horns, saxaphones, trombones, percussion etc.

Our Dedication: (Regional) To share the world of Jazz Music with the younger generations and the community here in Singapore. (International) To be part of the jazz community and constantly challenge and open to new things.

Though we dedicate ourselves to Jazz, we too expose ourselves to different types of music genre such as Latin, Funk, Slow Rock, Ballad, Traditional Music etc. So if you have a request for our appearance for your functions, feel free to drop us your email address on our mailing list and we will reach you back with the details.
