The band was formed in late 1997 by Ola (lead guitars) and Johan (drums), who at the time where playing in a local punk band. Martin (who originally was a guitar player) was asked to fill in the bass spot and Antonio who had recently moved to Sweden stepped in to do some vocals. Pantera, Sepultura, Korn, The Deftones and Machine Head were some of the main influences at the time so Subcyde sounded kind of nu-metalish at the very beginning. Jim was asked to join the band as second guitarist around the year 2000 and after a couple of years he quit due to personal reasons. After a couple of demos we started to achieve the sound we wanted and finally released our debutalbum called SUBCYDE on Last Entertainment in spring 2007.
