About
STONE LUCY
rock music
hard, but not always
ambient, sometimes
danceable occasionally/
often we're in odd-time signatures
/progressive, maybe/we aren't good looking
/we don't play pop-punk/we play what should be on the radio
our songs might take a couple times to "get"/ so get them
Where we've been:
“Ghosts have a cold, dead hand in some of what's going on just below the surface, so be ready to get emotionally engaged while they rock you off your chair” (Lexi Kahn, LBSH).
Stone Lucy is the creative partnership between guitarist Will Decher, bassist Garrett Lyon, lyricist/vocalist Adam Parker, and drummer Jed Gleason.
The band's first recorded output was the four-song Shrine to Lie By EP, released in February of 2006. From February through July of 2006, Stone Lucy built their local name recognition through the strength of their songs and the few shows they were able to play at house parties. In July of 2006, drummer Chris McKinney was welcomed into the group, who thanked the drum gods for sending them a player who could keep pace. The quartet immediately entered the studio with Bandazian singer/guitarist/songwriter Alex Keena. Keena, who produced the group's first demo engineered the three song demo that came out of these sessions.
Syndicated Summer, the culmination of both recording sessions, has just been released as the groups first “shopping demo” in January of 2007. Co-Produced by Alex Keena and Stone Lucy, Syndicated Summer serves as a celebration of the life and death of Daryl Gillespie, a life long friend of singer Adam Parker who died in 2005.
Syndicated Summer is, on one hand, a hard, experimental, and emotive EP from a new band. On the other hand, it is tempered by polished songwriting, great vocals, and tastefulness.
“You don't expect indie rock as carefully arranged as this, at least not anything this balls-out aggressive. Adam Parker, Will Decher (guitars) and Garrett Lyon (bass) could have stopped working on these songs a lot sooner and they'd still be great songs” (Lexi Khan, LBSH).
In September of 2007, drummer Chris McKinney amicably left the group for a job oppurtunity. In his place Stone Lucy has picked up local legend Jed Gleason who has instantly melded with the group.
We're we are going:
