Hey, folks. Coffee Grounds has been renamed, reorganized, and reimagined. It is now the Underground Music Cafe. I will be playing two sets at 7 and 8 pm. I expect David Stenshoel, of Boiled in Lead fame, to accompany me on fiddle. Please join us if you can. This will be our first time playing at a longtime favorite venue since a successful Kickstarter campaign made possible better sound and more space on stage. Yes. The post is dead!

Carl Pozs and I have been musicans for ages but only recently found one another and began working on my songs. Entertaining diners at a locally sourced food, neighborhood, family owned business feels like the right first gig. Join us if you are up for some good food surrounded by good people listening to good music.

Steve's collaborators on his CD in the works--Tim Harlan-Marks (Very Small Animal), Jen Urbach (Flight Risk), and David Stenshoel (Boiled in Lead)--all plan to add their playing and singing as the ad hoc band experiments with arrangements for a new batch of decidedly rootsy original songs.

Coffee Grounds is located on Hamline Ave. a few blocks south of the Larpenteur intersection. Great ice cream and coffee drinks and listening atmosphere. Jen and I will be reprising the songs we sing together on "Welcome to the Dance" as well as trying out some new ones which will eventually be on a stripped down, folk/roots music CD that is now but a gleam in the artists' eyes. We'll also throw in a few of our favorite covers. Join us if you can and wish.

Bio: I began playing guitar 50 years ago. My goal then was to be the next Elvis. But times change and so do music styles as well as aspirations. After a summer in Boston (1971) when I opened for John Lee Hooker and Spencer Davis, I learned that blues men like pizza and that I needed to do something l...See Full Bio

Mercifully, the CD is done. After the last one, I vowed to make a solo CD if I ever made another one. Oops. I ended up with a bigger virtual band than ever before and foolishly wore too many hats. Mix
