I began playing guitar 50 years ago. My goal then was to be the next Elvis. But times change and so do music styles as well as aspirations. After a summer in Boston (1971) when I opened for John Lee Hooker and Spencer Davis, I learned that blues men like pizza and that I needed to do something less self-centered than being a full-time folk singer.
