Thanks for Checking out my tunes.
I'm 28, Scottish, and seriously happy to be alive! I've been at music since I was a kid and developed my playing abilities at school and music college. I stopped playing everything when I was 23 as I was a mess battling with alcohol addiction. It got so out of hand I ended up homeless in Edinburgh. I was lucky, real lucky!, that I got a chance to get clean. It took 8 months in rehab, and a whole lot of soul searching, but I got there. While dealing with everything I needed an outlet. I picked up the guitar for the first time in years and started to write about my experiences. I don't have any huge influences but I am a great believer that people should be true to themselves and not the system. I'm almost finished recording my 1st album. I really am happy to be alive and have a second chance at life!
Peace and God Bless
Steph
Steph Macleod and his band The Winey Shuffle hail from the city of Edinburgh. Steph has been writing and performing his music throughout the UK since 2006 and this year things have started to snowball. Recently Steph, now signed with American INDE label D&M Records, has been appearing all over the country in solo gigs and also supporting critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and performer Martin Stephenson. With the addition of the profoundly talented bassist Dave Biddulf and Drummer Si Walker, Steph has been able to take his music and creativity to a new level both on and off the stage. His music lies rooted in the folk rock, blues, and americana acoustic influences of which he has many. Steph's songwriting is inspired by the unsweetened reality of life, and also the significant changes in his own life that occurred over two years ago when he was battling addiction. If you like bone dry honesty, foot-tapping tunes, and a bit of originality, you'll love this!
