Red Molly are well known for their gorgeous a cappella ballads, bluegrass-tinged folk and a touch of jazzy western swing all done up in their trademark three part harmonies, signature dobro licks and inventive arrangements. ”If one word describes the new Red Molly CD ‘Light in the Sky,’ that word is joyous. Once again, with the tick tight arrangements, crystalline vocals and caramel harmonies..." praises the Boston Globe. Creating tremendous excitement with their blend of great songwriting, passionate vocals and tight instrumentals, The Steel Wheels are rooted in musical styles exploring the territories between blues and bluegrass, old time sing alongs and foot stompin' fiddle tunes. They are subtle innovators who respect the past but whistle their own tunes, layering in rich textures and decidedly modern energy to forge a new sound.

The Albino Skunk Music Festival is a unique music festival held in Upstate South Carolina. SpringSkunk takes place the first weekend in May & SkunkFest typically takes place in early October and it’s not just bluegrass – we always have a great mix of music scheduled. Check out this year’s line-up. SkunkFest is held on the grounds of Glynn and Susan Zeigler’s place, north of Greer. The SkunkFest was initially private but is now open to the music-loving public. The festival got its name from the sightings of white skunks on the grounds. (Well, mostly white with a dark stripe – they’re not true albinos!) We are proud of our natural setting that takes you away from the bustle of city-life! Our goal is to provide a ‘family reunion’ atmosphere and introduce you to talent that may very well become your next favorite band. Make sure to get your tickets before they sell out!

Since 2005 Parkapalooza has given mid-Michigan the very best end-of-the-summer beach party under the sun! The festival is held on the second Sunday of September at Midland County’s Sanford Lake Park. The date coincides with the Founder’s Day’s festivities in the small village of Sanford, Michigan where the park is located. Visitors are encouraged to check out the old time attractions in the village before heading to the park for a great day of fun and music.Originally, ‘Palooza was envisioned as a straight forward concert on the beach, but it has evolved into so much more. Each year brings a host of surprises as we work to make the festival better in every way, but at the core, it is still a music festival. We are indebted to the many musicians who have volunteered their time and talent over the years. It is essential to Dstreet and County Parks that the festival maintains its family atmosphere, and history has proven us successful. Each year our guests range from tots to seniors. We make certain the park stays clean, safe and well supervised. The concert and all activities at Parkapalooza are free. In 2010 Midland County Parks instituted a small parking fee to help off-set their festival related expense. That cost is currently six dollars per car load and includes access to all park amenities as well as the festival. Walk-ins and people arriving by boat (and there are many on Sanford Lake), are still without charge.
make 2013 a break out year!
